To keep the gender enrollments equal for the Youth Ballroom Camp, we are now requiring all FEMALE participants to sign up with a partner of the opposite gender (one girl with one guy). This does not mean both will be partners throughout the camp. Partners vary with classes and levels. It is strictly to help keep the numbers equal to ensure a better camp experience for the participants. MALE participants can still register as single participants. If we reach a point where the number of males outnumbers the females, we will open up single participant enrollment to females again.
GIRLS: Please have both partners information ready at the time of registration. If one partner drops from the camp, the other partner will also be dropped.
For those girls who are not able to find a partner, we have a waiting list. As openings become available in the camp, we will call those girls on the list in the order in which they were placed on it.
To register or get on the waiting list, please call (801) 422-7589 or come into 169 Harman Continuing Education Building (please see below for more details and available registration times).

In its 24th year at Brigham Young University, the Youth Ballroom Dance Camp offers an exciting four days of dancing, socializing, and performing. Youth will gain up to 20 hours of training in a variety of dances. Participants will be taught under the watchful eye of top ballroom instructors.
Recreation includes a pizza/ice cream/dance party, trip to Seven Peaks Water Park, and closing banquet/dance party where each participant will showcase what he/she has learned!
Come make new friends and enjoy dancing with some of the nation’s top professionals.

BYU dance faculty member Marci Edgington is the director of BYU’s American Social Dance program. Claudia Hill, also a BYU faculty member, is the BYU Ballroom Dance Company promotional director. Marci and Claudia are members of the Imperial Teachers of Dance and have been instrumental in the development of the youth ballroom dance programs offered at BYU.
The camp concludes on Thursday evening with a banquet and dance showcase. Participants will perform what they have learned during the camp for their peers and parents. The evening includes a catered dinner (camp participants only), slide show of candid shots taken during the camp, performances by dance participants, and guest instructor performances.
For those who are attending the dance showcase who need special assistance and/or seating, please contact our office two weeks in advance with your request. Spectators will not be allowed in the room until a specified time that will be listed on the camp schedule and handed out at camp check-in. Therefore, guests should be prepared to stand in line for a short time. NO personal seats of any kind (besides those medically necessary) will be allowed in the room due to fire code restrictions.
Up to 20 hours of classroom instruction will be offered during the camp. Participants are grouped by four skill levels (beginning, intermediate I, intermediate II, and advanced).
