Information for Parents

• When registering Scouts for the PowWow, be sure to list the parent’s e-mail address so that program organizers can send e-mail updates about the program as needed.
• Some merit badge requirements are more extensive than others, so select a good “balance” of merit badges for the PowWow.
• Thoroughly review the merit badge worksheets for which the Scout is registering.
• Begin work on the more extensive merit badge requirements prior to the program.
• Parents should review their Scout’s merit badge worksheet progress after the first Saturday of the program and help the Scout work on needed requirements before the second Saturday of the program.
• Review the map of the BYU campus with your Scout(s) so that they are familiar with the buildings where the merit badge classes will be held.
• On both Saturdays of the program make definite plans as to exactly where and when you will pick up your Scout(s).
• Reminder: Scouts are responsible to bring their OWN merit badge worksheet for each class they have registered for AND the blue merit badge application cards for each class.
