Social Security numbers are kept private and secure within
our division at BYU. We do not include them on any printed material that
is sent to anyone outside of our offices.
The security of your Social Security number is very important to us. We
use this number as one of the unique identifiers for the information that
our computer system has about you. It is kept and used as an internal identifier
for those agencies to which we are legally required to report.
Since reports to the U.S. government require the Social
Security number for credit registrations, we are not able to register
you in credit programs without it.
For the above reasons, we hope you will feel comfortable in providing your
Social Security number for registration.
