EFY Health Counselor

EFY Health Counselors will be paid $475 for a weeklong contract.

The EFY Health Counselor’s main role is to assist program participants needing medical care. This specialist has the opportunity to interact with the youth, helping them maintain their physical and spiritual well-being. Health Counselors work closely with the Coordinators and Building Counselors in a leadership role at the EFY sessions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist participants needing medical care
  • Responsible for the physical and spiritual well-being of each participant for the entire week-long program
  • Be a proper example of a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ
  • Travel may be involved. **If you are hired on a team that travels, your travel expense is paid by EFY. You need to be able to travel to each location.**

Requirements:

  • Be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing
  • Be willing to accept as a condition of employment compliance with the Church Educational System Honor Code and the standards of conduct that are consistent with qualifying for temple privileges
  • Have one year of college, or one year of work experience out of high school
  • Be a minimum of 21 years old by May 31, 2012
  • Be a maximum of 28 years old by September 1, 2012
  • Minimum Requirement: Be a student in a health-related field or certified as an LPN, EMT, CNA or First Responder by May 1, 2012
  • Enjoy working with youth
  • Be able to work well with coworkers
  • Have good public relations skills
  • Be able to work long hours
  • Have some service experience
  • Be organized, teachable, and dependable
  • Abide by the Especially for Youth counselor dress and appearance standards
  • Attend a training session at BYU in April or May
  • If hired, must be able to legally work in the United States of America
  • Strongly Preferred:

    • Returned missionary
    • Experience working in a health facility

    Preferred:

    • Previous experience working with youth
