EFY Stay–at–Home (SAH) Counselor
EFY Stay–at–Home (SAH) counselors will be paid $375 for a week–long contract.
Stay–at–Home programs are intended to serve youth who would not be able to attend an overnight session of EFY because of the cost. These programs are more affordable because of one difference: there is no overnight housing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- Be responsible for a group of 10–15 youth of the corresponding gender.
- Be responsible for the physical and spiritual well–being of each participant for the entire weeklong program.
- Teach in both formal and informal settings.
- Be a proper example of a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ.
Requirements
- Be a member in good standing
- Be willing to accept as a condition of employment compliance with the Church Educational System Honor Code and the standards of conduct that are consistent with qualifying for temple privileges.
- Have one year of college or one year of work experience out of high school
- Enjoy working with youth
- Be able to work well with coworkers
- Have good public relations skills
- Be able to work long hours
- Be able to motivate and discipline when necessary
- Have some service experience
- Be comfortable in small groups
- Be organized, teachable, and dependable
- Provide own travel to and from sessions at own risk and expense
- Abide by the Especially for Youth counselor dress and appearance standards
- Male applicants must be a minimum of 21 years old by May 31, 2012
- Female applicants must be a minimum of 20 years old by May 31, 2012
- Must be no more than 28 years old by September 1, 2012
