DownloadDownloading a file from the WWW means that you are transferring data from a server to your computer. Actually, every Web page that you look at is downloaded to your computer before you can see it. The only difference is that the downloaded page is read immediately by your browser; everything runs automatically.
When downloading software, however, the process is a little different. Most software that you download will have a file name with the extension ".exe." Your browser is configured not to open this type of file by default but to save it to your disk instead. So when you click on a link that downloads a file, you will be prompted by a window asking you what you want to do with that file. The value "Save it to disk" should be the default option, so just click "OK."
When your download is complete, navigate to the folder that you used to store it and double click on the file. An installation program will start and guide you through the process of installing the software.
